LW Fredrik Modin (groin) is day-to-day… RW Derek Dorsett (stress fracture leg; Sept. 25 – Injured Reserve) is expected to miss four to six weeks… Man Games Lost to Injury: 12.

 

TEAM NOTES

*The Blue Jackets are 3-3-1 through their first seven games, which is the best mark to date in club history… The previous best was 3-4-0 in 2003-04.

*Columbus has registered three shutouts in its first seven games compared to four in all of the 2006-07 season when the club didn't record its third shutout until the 26th game (3-0 at Colorado on Dec. 5)… The franchise record for shutouts in a season is five, set in 2002-03 and 2003-04.

*The Blue Jackets are 2-1-1 at home and picked up their first road win in three tries with a 3-0 shutout at Buffalo on Oct. 19.

*Columbus leads the NHL in penalty killing at 92.1 percent (35-of-38).

*Columbus ranks third in the NHL in goals-against (excluding shootout goals), allowing just 1.98 per game (Minnesota – 1.24; Philadelphia – 1.71).

*The Jackets have outshot their opponents in five of the first seven games (3-1-1).

 

PLAYER NOTES

*G Pascal Leclaire is 3-2-0 with a 1.61 goals-against average, .936 save percentage and three shutouts in five games… He leads the NHL in shutouts, while ranking third in goals-against average and fourth-tied in save percentage… He had posted one career shutout prior to opening this season with three in his first four games.

*LW Rick Nash is riding three-game goal scoring and point streaks heading into this week's action… He has tallied 3-2-5 in his last three games and leads the club with 5-4-9 in seven games.

*C Michael Peca registered his first points as a Blue Jacket with the game-winning goal and an assist in a 3-0 win at Buffalo on Oct. 19.

*LW Jason Chimera, who has played in 169 consecutive games, is expected to play in the 300th game of his NHL career at Chicago on Tuesday. He has tallied 52-54-106 in 299 career games.

Oct. 27 vs. San Jose – See the Blue Jackets… Watch the Buckeyes… Get a Dollar Dog: Saturday is Dollar Dog Night presented by Sugardale when the Jackets meet the Sharks. Following the game, fans can stay and watch the Ohio StatePenn State game on the Nationwide Arena video board. Fans will also have the chance to win Buckeye-themed prizes and 2008 season tickets for the defending National Conference champion Columbus Destroyers throughout the evening.

BLUE JACKETS ON THE RADIO
The Coach's Show with Ken Hitchcock airs on WBNS Sports Radio 1460 The Fan on Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. with the Blue Jackets Head Coach and Blue Jackets play-by-play announcer on FSN Ohio Jeff Rimer.

Breakfast with the Blue Jackets Presented by Rise & Dine can be heard on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and AM flagship station Sports Radio 1460 The Fan on Sundays from 10 to 11 a.m. with hosts Mark Wyant and members of the Blue Jackets broadcast team. This week's show will be broadcast live from the Rise & Dine in the Arena District located at 277 W. Nationwide Blvd.
