The Columbus Blue Jackets will start a four-game road trip with a 7 p.m. contest with the Blackhawks at the United Center in Chicago. The Blue Jackets will then face San Jose (Oct. 12), Anaheim (Oct. 14) and Los Angeles (Oct. 16).
The Blue Jackets are 0-1 on the road in 2005-06, having dropped the season opener at Washington, 3-2. The Jackets then returned to Nationwide Arena and fell to the defending Western Conference Champion Calgary Flames, 3-1.
Chicago has started the season splitting the first two games of a three-game homestand to open the season. Chicago dropped its home opener, 5-3, and rebounded to defeat the San Jose Sharks, 6-3.
The Blue Jackets' Bryan Berard played for Chicago last season, winning the Bill Masterton trophy scoring 13-34-47 in 58 games with the Blackhawks in 2003-04. Berard signed with Columbus on Aug. 3, 2005.
The game will be broadcast on FSN Ohio, as well as on the the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship stations 1460 The Fan and CD101 in Columbus.
