Blue Jackets Spread Holiday Cheer the Week of December 15

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets will be spreading holiday cheer throughout Central Ohio during the week of December 15-21. Among the activities planned is the team's annual visit to patients at Nationwide Children's Hospital, delivery of toys to the Homeless Families Foundation, bell ringing for the Salvation Army and a public skate with fans and guests from Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Central Ohio at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium ice rink.

Monday, December 15 – Nationwide Children's Hospital Visit
Members of the Blue Jackets team will be visiting patients and delivering gifts at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (555 S. 18th St.) as well as hosting a holiday party for patients and their families at the Columbus Blue Jackets Family Resource Center. The team will be visiting from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Monday, December 15 – Salvation Army Bell Ringers
Blue Jackets players Mike Commodore, Jakub Voracek, Derick Brassard, Marc Methot, Jared Boll and Kris Russell will be ringing bells and collecting donations in downtown Columbus in support of the Salvation Army's Red Kettle program from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the following locations – corner of Nationwide Blvd. and Front Street (Commodore and Voracek); corner of State St. and High St. (Methot and Brassard); corner of Front St. & Broad St. (Boll and Russell); and Easton Town Center outside Build A Bear (Stinger). Tuesday, December 16 – Homeless Families Foundation Toy Delivery
Blue Jackets players Jason Chimera, Andrew Murray and Fedor Tyutin will be delivering toys donated by the team’s players and front office staff to the Homeless Families Foundation (651 W. Broad St.). Blue Jackets partner Lexus is providing a caravan of their sport utility vehicles to transport the many toys that the players will deliver to volunteers and parents between 4 to 4:30 p.m. Players will then visit with children at the organization’s after-school facility from 4:30 to 5 p.m.

Sunday, December 21 – Frozone Ice Rink sponsored by Disney on Ice - Columbus Zoo & Aquarium
Blue Jackets players Steve Mason and Derek Dorsett, along with mascot Stinger, will be skating with guests from Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Central Ohio at the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium's Frozone Ice Rink sponsored by Disney on Ice from 3 to 4 p.m.
