Blue Jackets Sign Holy Cross Defenseman Jon Landry

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed Holy Cross defenseman Jon Landry to a two-year entry level contract for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today.

Landry, 22, has spent the past four seasons at Holy Cross, registering 24 goals and 62 assists for 86 points with 190 penalty minutes and a cumulative +7 plus/minus rating. He was named First Team All-Atlantic Hockey Association for the second consecutive season in 2006-07 after collecting 9-18-27 and 56 penalty minutes in 27 games. In 2005-06, he tallied a career-high 9-20-29 with 54 penalty minutes in 38 games for the Crusaders.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Tuesday when they host the Chicago Blackhawks. Game time at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. with live coverage on FSN Ohio beginning with the Ice Breaker pre-game show at 6:30 p.m. Coverage also includes the Blue Jackets Ice Cap post-game show immediately following the game.
