COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward T.J. Tynan to a two-year entry level contract, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Tynan, 22, was Columbus’ second pick, 66th overall, at the 2011 NHL Draft.

In 2012-13, he led the Fighting Irish to a conference title, earning MVP honors at the CCHA Tournament in Detroit, Mich. As a senior in 2013-14, the 5-9, 165-pound forward led Notre Dame in scoring with 8-30-38 in 40 games. The Fighting Irish were eliminated from national title contention last weekend, suffering a 4-3 overtime loss to St. Cloud State in the NCAA West Regionals.

Tynan represented the United States at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championships, recording 1-3-4 in six tournament appearances. He spent one season with Des Moines of the United States Hockey League prior to enrolling at Notre Dame, registering 17-55-72 in 60 games in 2009-10 and leading the league in assists to earn a spot on the USHL All-Rookie Team.
