Blue Jackets sign forward Keegan Kolesar to a three-year Entry Level contract

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed right wing Keegan Kolesar, the club’s fifth selection in the 2015 NHL Draft, to a three-year entry level contract, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Kolesar, 18, was the 69th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. He has tallied career highs in assists and points with 16 goals and 23 assists for 39 points with 61 penalty minutes and a +11 plus/minus rating in 33 games with the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League this season. He ranks second on Seattle and 18th-T in the WHL in scoring and is 11th overall in penalty minutes.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native has posted 37-48-85 and 191 penalty minutes in 158 career WHL games with the Thunderbirds. He recorded career highs in games played, goals and penalty minutes in 2014-15 with 19-19-38 and 85 penalty minutes in 64 games. He has skated in 11 career WHL playoff games, collecting 0-2-2 and two penalty minutes with a +1 plus/minus rating.
