Blue Jackets sign center Lukas Sedlak to a three-year entry level contract

COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed forward Lukas Sedlak to a standard three-year entry level contract, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Sedlak, 20, has spent the past two seasons with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, registering 32 goals and 47 assists for 79 points with 121 penalty minutes and a +25 plus/minus rating in 98 regular season games. He added 6-7-13 and 26 penalty minutes in 24 QMJHL playoff games. In 2012-13, he notched 15-19-34 and 64 penalty minutes in 48 games. As a QMJHL rookie in 2011-12, he picked up 17-28-45, 57 penalty minutes and was +24 in 50 outings.

A native of Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, Sedlak represented his country at the 2012 and 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships, combining for 1-2-3 and 10 penalty minutes in 12 games. In the 2013 tournament, he tallied 1-4-5, eight penalty minutes and was +1 in six games.
