COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets have made their third roster moves of training camp as six players have been reassigned or released to trim the current training camp roster to 36 players, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
The following three players have been assigned to the Springfield Falcons, the Blue Jackets’ American Hockey League affiliate: defensemen Austin Madaisky and Will Weber and forward T.J. Tynan. In addition, forward Oliver Bjorkstrand (Portland/Western Hockey League) has been returned to his junior club. The club also released defenseman Brett Ponich and forward Mike Hoeffel from their professional tryout contracts with both players expected to report to Springfield.
The Blue Jackets, who are 4-1-0 in the preseason, return to action on Monday when they visit the Nashville Predators. Puck drop from Bridgestone Arena is 8 p.m. ET. Columbus’ next home preseason game is Wednesday, October 1 vs. the Carolina Hurricanes. Game time at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.
