COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed right wing Jared Boll on Injured Reserve and recalled center Michael Chaput from Cleveland’s Lake Erie Monsters, Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Boll, 29, will be sidelined at least a week after suffering a foot injury while playing in his 500th career NHL game vs. the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. He has registered 18 penalty minutes and a -1 plus/minus rating in 12 games this season. The club’s fourth pick, 101st overall, in the 2005 NHL Draft, he has posted 26-33-59 and is the Blue Jackets’ all-time leader 1,152 penalty minutes.
Chaput, 23, is tied for second on Lake Erie in scoring with five goals and three assists for eight points. He has also recorded four penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in 13 games. The Ile Bizard, Quebec native has collected 1-5-6 in 50 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, including 1-4-5 in 33 games in 2014-15. Acquired from Philadelphia via trade on February 28, 2011, he has registered 47-59-106 and 134 penalty minutes in 186 career AHL games with Lake Erie and the Springfield Falcons. He was selected by the Flyers with their first pick, 89th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft.
