COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets today announced that forward Nick Drazenovic has been recalled from the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. Drazenovic has tallied 16-29-45 in 46 appearances with Springfield this season, tying him for first place on his team and third place in the league in scoring.
A native of Prince George, BC, Drazenovic was originally signed by the Blue Jackets as an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2011, after spending four seasons with the Blues organization. The 6-1, 192-pound center appeared in three games with St. Louis (0-0-0) and 278 with their AHL affiliate in Peoria (70-90-160) from 2007-11. In 41 appearances with the Falcons last season, Drazenovic recorded 13-28-41. Prior to turning pro, Drazenovic spent four-and-a-half seasons (2002-07) with the Western Hockey League’s Prince George Cougars, recording 77-137-214 in 281 games played.
The Blue Jackets return to action Friday when they visit the defending Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings at STAPLES Center. Game time is 10:30 p.m. ET.
