COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed right wing Jack Skille on Injured Reserve retroactive to January 9 and recalled left wing Josh Anderson from the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Skille, 27, suffered a lower body injury on January 9 against Toronto and is expected to miss two weeks from the time of the injury. The Madison, Wisconsin native has recorded five goals and two assists for seven points and 16 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Blue Jackets this season. Claimed off waivers from the New York Islanders on October 5, Skille has collected 29-31-60 and 95 penalty minutes in 229 career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Florida Panthers and Blue Jackets.
Anderson, 20, has registered 4-7-11 and 56 penalty minutes in 37 games with Springfield in 2014-15, his first professional campaign. The Burlington, Ontario native posted career highs in goals, points and penalty minutes in 2013-14 with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League, finishing with 27-24-51 and 81 penalty minutes. The club’s fourth selection, 95th overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft, Anderson registered 62-60-122 and 192 penalty minutes in 191 career OHL games. He also represented Canada at the 2014 World Junior Championships.
