COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman David Savard to the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League, club Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Savard, 22, has totaled 44:35 of ice time in three games played with Columbus and recorded 3-18-21 in addition to a +12 rating in 34 appearances with Springfield this season.
A native of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Savard was originally selected by the Blue Jackets in the fourth round, 94th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-2, 219-pound blueliner has registered 2-8-10 and 16 penalty minutes in 34 career NHL games and 18-68-86, 112 PIM in 150 appearances with the Falcons.
The Blue Jackets return to action Sunday when they host the Edmonton Oilers at Nationwide Arena. Game time is 6 p.m. ET.
