COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Tim Erixon to the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Erixon, 23, has scored five goals and dished out 28 assists for 33 points in 36 games with Springfield in 2013-14. He leads all Falcons defensemen in assists and ranks second in points. The 6-2, 200-pound blueliner has also skated in two games with Columbus this season, recording one blocked shot, one hit and one shot on goal in 28:41 of action.
In 51 career NHL appearances with the Blue Jackets and NY Rangers, Erixon has tallied 0-7-7, 24 penalty minutes and a +4 rating. He has registered 13-82-95, 94 PIM, +13 in 128 career AHL games with the Falcons and Connecticut Whale.
The playoff-bound Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning for an Eastern Conference battle. Game time from the Tampa Bay Times Forum is 7:30 p.m. ET.
