COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Dan Fritsche on Injured Reserve, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today. The club has added forward Geoff Platt to the roster on emergency recall from the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus American Hockey League affiliate.
Fritsche, 21, suffered a wrist injury on February 25 against the Nashville Predators and is out indefinitely. In 59 games this season, he has totaled 12-15-27 with 35 penalty minutes, while leading the team with four game-winning goals.
Platt, 21, has collected two penalty minutes in seven games with the Blue Jackets this season and has totaled 0-5-5 with 18 penalty minutes in 22 career NHL games with Columbus. He currently leads Syracuse in goals and points, while ranking second in power play goals having tallied 27-20-47 with 53 penalty minutes and is +4 in 50 games. He has 57-55-112 with 111 penalty minutes and is +5 in 116 career AHL games.
The Blue Jackets return to action Tuesday when they visit the Colorado Avalanche. Game time from Pepsi Center is set for 9 p.m. ET with live coverage on FSN Ohio beginning with the IceBreaker pre-game show at 8:30 p.m. Coverage also includes the Blue Jackets Ice Cap post-game show immediately following the game.
