The Columbus Blue Jackets today announced that forward Nick Foligno
has been placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to March 26. Foligno, 25, has missed Columbus’ last two games with an upper body injury.
Acquired by the Blue Jackets in a trade with the Senators last summer, Foligno has tallied 5-10-15 in 33 appearances with Columbus Jackets this season. Originally selected by Ottawa in the first round, 28th overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Foligno has registered 66-97-163 in 384 career NHL games with the Senators and Blue Jackets. The 6-0, 210-pound native of Buffalo, New York has twice represented the United States at the IIHF World Championships, recording 3-2-5 in 15 appearances at the 2009 and 2010 editions of the tournament.
