Cam Atkinson scored the winning goal with 2:46 left and the Blue Jackets rallied from down a goal in the third to defeat the Florida Panthers 5-4 at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla., on Thursday.
Atkinson scored his second of the season on the backhand with goaltender James Reimer prone on the ice. The Panthers challenge for goaltender interference was denied.
The Blue Jackets (3-1-0) have won two straight.

Artemi Panarin had a goal and three assists and Zach Werenski a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets. Anthony Duclair and Boone Jenner also scored and Joonas Korpisalo made 37 saves in his second start of the season.

Evgenii Dadonov had a goal and two assists and Aleksander Barkov a goal and an assist for the Panthers (0-1-1). Troy Brouwer and Nick Bjugstad scored, and James Reimer made 27 saves.
Columbus led 2-1 after one period but trailed 4-3 after two before Jenner made it 4-4 at 1:15 of the third with shot from the left wing wall.

The Blue Jackets for the second straight game let a 2-0 lead evaporate. They eventually beat Colorado 5-2 on Tuesday.
In the second period vs. Florida, the Panthers got three goals, had a 22-5 shot advantage and, for the second time in the game, scored in the final 10 seconds for a 4-3 lead.
Florida used another miscue to set up Bjugstad goal with 8.3 seconds left for the 4-3 lead.
Columbus defenseman Ryan Murray slipped skating around the Blue Jackets' net and tossed the puck up the middle of the ice only to have it intercepted. Tic-tac-toe and Dadonov found Bjugstad for the go-ahead score.
The Panthers entered the middle stanza down 2-1, thanks to a late first-period goal by Dadonov, but overwhelmed the Blue Jackets for a pair of goals while taking the first 15 shots in the first 11 minutes.
With the momentum all Florida, Atkinson drew a tripping penalty by Alexander Petrovic at 11:40 and Duclair evened the score at 3-3 shortly thereafter on the Blue Jackets' first shot on goal in 13:24.

CBJ@FLA: Panarin sets up Duclair on power play

Duclair scored his first for Columbus at 12:16 from low in the left circle after taking a cross-ice pass from Panarin as Werenski earned the secondary assist.
Prior to that, the Panthers stormed to the 3-2 lead, starting with a funky goal. It started in the Florida end when Blue Jackets defenseman Markus Nutivaara lost and edge and the puck.
As Dadonov skated down the right wing, three Blue Jackets converged in the slot, leaving the lane open for his backdoor pass to Barkov to make it 2-2 at 6:29.
Brouwer gave the Panthers the 3-2 lead at 8:57 with at tip of Mark Pysyk's shot from the left point after Boone Jenner couldn't clear the zone.
The Blue Jackets were intent on spoiling the Panthers' home opener with a strong start and they came within 10.6 seconds of repeating their first period Tuesday, right down to scoring a 5-on-3 goal and taking a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.
But it wasn't to be because Dadonov one-timed a pass from Aleksander Barkov with only Werenski back to make it 2-1.

CBJ@FLA: Werenski whips home power-play goal

Werenski opened the scoring at 13:29 while Columbus had a two-man advantage for 1:30. He took a pass in the high slot from Panarin and snapped the shot for his first point of the season.
Korpisalo preserved the lead during the Panthers second power play and soon after Panarin deposited is third goal of the season at 17:20. Korpisalo 10 seconds earlier made an outstanding save on a point-blank redirect by Nick Bjugstad.
