Blue Jackets Make Roster Moves

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets made their fifth round of roster moves, Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Scott Howson announced today. The current roster consists of 29 players (list includes four players on injured reserve).

Forward Tomas Kubalik and defenseman John Moore were assigned to the Springfield Falcons, Columbus’s American Hockey League affiliate, while forward Martin St. Pierre and defenseman Nick Holden were placed on waivers for the purposes of being assigned to Springfield. In addition, forward Alexandre Giroux has been placed on waivers.

Right wing Jared Boll was placed on injured reserve and will be out at least 4-6 weeks with a broken thumb. Also on the Blue Jackets’ injured reserve list are: forward Kristian Huselius, defenseman Theo Ruth and goaltender Mark Dekanich.

The Blue Jackets open the 2011-12 season Friday, Oct. 7 when the club hosts the Nashville Predators. Game time from Nationwide Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET. Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:50 p.m. for the pre-game show. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio HD begins with a special edition of the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel & Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network, including 97.1 The Fan and online at BlueJackets.com.

Single game tickets for the Blue Jackets home games starting at $26 are on sale now at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office, The Chiller Ice Rinks and all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers.
