COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have loaned goaltender Oscar Dansk to Rögle BK in Sweden’s top professional league, the Swedish Hockey League, for the 2015-16 season, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Dansk, 21, posted a 7-7-5 record with a 3.57 goals against average and .880 save percentage in 21 appearances with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League in his first North American professional campaign in 2014-15. The Stockholm, Sweden native spent the 2013-14 season with the Ontario Hockey League’s Erie Otters, finishing fourth in the league in wins, first in goals against average and tied for first in shutouts with a 29-9-1 record, 2.39 goals against average, .909 save percentage and six shutouts.
Columbus’ second pick, 31st overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft, Dansk registered a 40-32-7 record with a 3.25 goals against average and .897 save percentage in 85 career OHL games. He helped Sweden capture a silver medal at the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championships, finishing with a 1.79 goals against average and .929 save percentage in six games. He also helped Sweden to a silver medal at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships and 2012 IIHF U-18 World Championships.
