Blue Jackets Idol wins over judges

by Staff Writer / Columbus Blue Jackets

Blue Jackets Anthem singer, Libby Turnow, made her television debut on May 24 on the local talent search – "Gimme The Mike." Libby was the first to perform in front of the judges, but that didn't seem to bother her. She belted out her rendition of Etta James'  "At Last" and left the judges with no choice but to mover her on to the finals.

Libby was not without competition though. Shawn, Noah, and Amber all did their best to surpass the standard that was set early on. However not even hits from The Backstreet Boys, Faith Hill, and Stevie Wonder could get the job done.

In the end Libby tallied a combined score of 31 from the judges, which included a local singer and song writer, Atlantic Records music executive, and Dino and Stacy from Sunny 95.

The comments from the judges were the same across the board. All thought Libby looked beautiful and sounded even better, but hope that Libby holds nothing back in the final round. Blue Jackets fans aren't worried. They know what she is capable of.

Don't miss Libby take on the other finalists and wild card winners June 28 at 7:30 p.m. on Fox-28.
