LOS ANGELES KINGS (10-9-3, 23 pts./3rd Pacific Division): Head Coach: Terry Murray… Los Angeles has gone 7-3-2 since Nov. 4 and is 5-1-1 in its last seven home games… The Kings rank eighth in the NHL in goals-against (2.64 per game) and are tied for seventh in penalty killing (84.0 pct.)… Club is led by C Anze Kopitar (5-13-18, 22 games), RW Dustin Brown (8-7-15, 22 games) and RW Alexander Frolov (8-7-15, 22 games)… G Erik Ersberg is 6-4-2 with a 2.29 GAA, .900 SV%… Jackets are 14-12-2 all-time vs. the Kings, including 5-8-1 on the road… Columbus has gone 4-1-1 in the last six meetings and earned a point in all four meetings last season (3-0-1)… This is the first meeting between the teams in 2008-09.

ANAHEIM DUCKS (14-8-3, 31 pts./2nd Pacific Division): Head Coach Randy Carlyle… Since opening the season 1-5-0, the Ducks have posted a 13-3-3 record… Ducks have gone 7-6-2 at home and 7-2-1 on the road… C Ryan Getzlaf is tied for third in the NHL in scoring with 10-21-31 in 24 games… RW Corey Perry (7-19-26, 25 games) and RW Teemu Selanne (13-10-23, 25 games) are also players to watch… G Jean-Sebastien Giguere is 8-7-2 with a 3.01 GAA, .907 SV% and two shutouts… The Blue Jackets are 13-12-4 in the all-time series, including 5-6-3 on the road… Anaheim has won six of the last eight meetings, including one shootout and one overtime decision… The Ducks earned a 3-2 win at Nationwide Arena on Oct. 27.

PLAYER NOTES

NASH HAS NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER: LW Rick Nash tallied 7-8-15, 10 PIM and was +6 in 13 games in November. He picked up points in 10 of the 13 contests, fired off 38 shots on goal and led the Jackets to a 6-4-3 record. He opened the month with a four-game assist streak (0-5-5) from Nov. 1-7 and then added a five-game goal streak (5-2-7) from Nov. 12-22 that tied for the second longest streak of his career. He wrapped up the month with two goals in a 3-0 win over Washington on Nov. 29. He leads the Blue Jackets with 12-9-21, three power play goals (tied), three game-winning goals, one shorthanded goal (tied) and 76 shots on goal in 23 games this season…

FOR THAT MATTER, SO DID MASON: Rookie G Steve Mason was recalled from the AHL's Syracuse Crunch on Nov. 4 after three professional starts and posted a 5-2-1 record with a 2.09 goals-against average, .919 save percentage and two shutouts in eight games with the Blue Jackets in November. He won his first three career starts over Edmonton, Montreal and Calgary from Nov. 5-8, posted his first career shutout with a 15-save effort at Atlanta on Nov. 22 and made 26 saves to post his second shutout in a 3-0 win over Washington on Nov. 29. He made a season-high 34 saves in a 4-3 shootout win over Montreal on Nov. 7…

TYUTIN RECORDS FIRST MULTI-GOAL GAME: D Fedor Tyutin registered his first multi-goal game in his 272nd game when he scored twice at Detroit on Nov. 28. He has tallied 3-6-9 in his last 13 games and now leads all club defensemen in scoring with 3-8-11 in 23 games. He also leads the club in ice time, averaging 23:53...

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES: Rookie RW Jakub Voracek scored a goal and was +3 at Detroit on Nov. 28, snapping five-game point and 14-game goal droughts. He has tallied 4-8-12 in 23 games, ranking third among NHL rookies in assists and fourth in points… C Derick Brassard tallied 4-6-10 in 12 games in November on the heels of being named the NHL's Rookie of the Month in October when he notched 4-5-9 in 10 games… LW Raffi Torres picked up his first goal as a Blue Jacket, the game-winner, vs. Washington on Nov. 29… C Manny Malhotra ranks ninth in the NHL in face-off percentage (57.2 percent).

MISCELLANEOUS: The Blue Jackets have outscored the opposition 22 to 15 in the first period and are 10-4-0 when scoring the game's first goal… Columbus is averaging 30.3 shots per game (the club record is 29, set in 2007-08)… The Jackets have outscored their opponents 51 to 42 in even-strength situations this season… Columbus is 9-1-1 when leading or tied after two periods… The Jackets had their five-game road regulation unbeaten streak (3-0-2) snapped in a 5-3 loss at Detroit on Nov. 28… The Jackets rebounded from a 4-6-0 record in October to go 6-4-3 in November.

"BREAKING DOWN THE GAME" FEATURE TO DEBUT AT WWW.BLUEJACKETS.COM: The Blue Jackets will debut a new web feature, "Breaking Down the Game," with members of the team's coaching staff on Tuesday, December 2, exclusively on the "Jackets Insider Channel" on Jackets TV at the team's official website, www.BlueJackets.com. A total of 40 five-minute episodes will air throughout the remainder of the 2008-09 regular season. Each episode will feature a member of the Blue Jackets coaching staff breaking down key plays from previous games. The coaches will utilize computer graphics to direct the viewer's attention to highlighted players or other pertinent elements, while explaining the plays as they unfold.
