Blue Jackets Goaltender Pascal Leclaire Ranks Seventh Overall, Second Among Goaltenders in Western Conference All-Star Voting

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Pascal Leclaire ranks seventh overall among all Western Conference vote-getters and second among goaltenders, while left wing Rick Nash ranks eighth among forwards in the XM/NHL All-Star Fan Balloting, presented by 2K Sports, the NHL announced December 5.

Leclaire has received 116,747 votes and trails Vancouver's Roberto Luongo who has received 121,008 votes. Nash ranks eighth among forwards with 69,242 votes. The top 10 vote-getters in the Western Conference are: defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom, Detroit (246,144); forward Henrik Zetterberg, Detroit (175,270); defenseman Dion Phaneuf, Calgary (170,477); forward Pavel Datsyuk (134,661); forward Jarome Iginla, Calgary (124,337); Luongo; Leclaire; defenseman Chris Pronger, Anaheim (109,755); forward Joe Sakic, Colorado (98,026) and forward Mike Cammalleri, Los Angeles (94,187).

Fans around the world can go online at to "Vote Now, Vote Often" for the Eastern and Western Conference All-Star starters for the 2008 NHL All-Star Game. U.S. fans also can cast votes through Verizon Wireless Mobile Web 2.0-enabled phones. The voting began on November 12 and concludes on January 2.

The voting will determine the starting lineups for the 2008 NHL All-Star Game, which will be played on Sunday, January 27 in Atlanta (6 p.m. ET, VERSUS, CBC, RDS, NASN, NHL Radio). Fans can vote for six Eastern Conference All-Stars and six Western Conference All-Stars: three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender for each team. If a player is not listed on the ballot, a space is provided for write-in votes. The three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender from each Conference receiving the most votes will comprise the starting lineups. Each of the 30 NHL Clubs has at least two representatives on the ballot.

The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Colorado Avalanche. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FSN Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
