COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today that each of the club’s 82 regular season games in 2015-16 will be televised live, including 81 on FOX Sports Ohio as the club’s rightsholder unveiled its schedule for the upcoming season.
FOX Sports Ohio’s Emmy-winning coverage of the Blue Jackets begins on Friday, October 9 when the club opens the regular season at home against the New York Rangers in a matchup of Metropolitan Division rivals. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. Coverage of the season-opener will include a special one-hour edition of the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show beginning at 6 p.m. and a special edition of Drennan Live on SportsTime Ohio from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
FOX Sports Ohio will air 41 home games and 40 away contests during the 2015-16 Blue Jackets regular season. The FOX Sports Ohio/Blue Jackets broadcast team features play-by-play announcer Jeff Rimer, color analyst Jody Shelley, studio analyst and host Bill Davidge, host Brian Giesenschlag and rink side reporter Dave Maetzold.
In addition, NBC Sports Network will televise the Thursday, February 23 encounter between the Blue Jackets and Detroit Red Wings live to a national audience from Joe Louis Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m. for the matchup between former Central Division rivals.
In addition, FOX Sports Ohio will launch its “Countdown to Faceoff” coverage in September with the replays of four memorable Blue Jackets games from 2014-15 season. Fans will be able to vote for three additional replays to air leading up to opening night.
The “Countdown to Faceoff” replays include the following games:
Monday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. – Blue Jackets win over the Rangers in last year’s home opener on Oct. 11.
Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. – Columbus’ shootout win over the Pittsburgh Penguins at Nationwide Arena.
Thursday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. – A nine-round shootout win over the eventual Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.
Monday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. – Jackets score seven goals to hand the St. Louis Blues their first loss in 13 games.
Throughout the campaign, live game-night coverage on FOX Sports Ohio begins with Blue Jackets Live, a 30-minute pre-game show featuring highlights, player interviews and analysis. Coverage continues after the game with the post-game edition of Blue Jackets Live, presented by IGS Energy. The pre- and post-game shows will be hosted by Bill Davidge and Brian Giesenschlag.
