COLUMBUS, OHIO – In celebration of the holiday season, the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation and the Lady Jackets present “Blue Jackets Favorites Basket Auction and Raffle,” a signature event during which the wives and girlfriends of players, coaches and team personnel assemble customized gift baskets filled with a variety of items that reflect the personalities and off-ice interests of the Blue Jackets. This year’s fundraiser, which runs from December 12-19, will benefit KidSMILES Pediatric Dental Clinic, a volunteer-led, non-profit dental clinic dedicated to providing quality dental care and education to children at an affordable cost to their families.

Many of the baskets include game-used equipment and autographed items; tickets with post-game meet & greet opportunities; and gift cards for favorite restaurants, shops and attractions. A sampling of several unique items include: a wine tasting dinner with Cam Atkinson; a homemade dinner delivery by David Savard; a customized hockey stick chair handmade by Dalton Prout’s father; a Christmas tree adorned with autographed ornaments accompanied by Sergei Bobrovsky’s game-used and autographed glove and blocker; rounds of golf in the baskets of Jared Boll, Jarmo Kekalainen and John Davidson; and a ‘little free library’ from the McElhinney family.

Another unique offering suitable for a group is a private hockey lesson or team practice at Nationwide Arena under the direction of the Jackets’ assistant coaches. The one-hour session will be recorded and each participant will receive a video keepsake of the experience, edited and prepared by the Blue Jackets video staff. The full package also includes multiple sets of game tickets and a tour of the Blue Jackets dressing room.

The auction and raffle begins with the home game on Saturday, December 12 vs. the New York Islanders and runs through the second intermission of the Saturday, December 19 game against the Philadelphia Flyers. An online catalog featuring the contents of each basket is available at www.BlueJackets.com/playerbaskets or fans may peruse the complete collection of baskets during home games on December 12, 14 and 19. Some baskets will be offered via auction, while several will be available through raffle with tickets priced at $10 each. Fans may place bids or buy raffle tickets using their cell phones or mobile devices by registering at www.BlueJackets.com/cbjauction.
