COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Blue Jackets will host a press conference with recently-acquired forwards Brandon Saad and Gregory Campbell at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nationwide Arena. This will be the first media appearance in Columbus for the two players, who joined the organization earlier this month.
Saad, 22, was acquired in a seven-player trade with the Chicago Blackhawks on June 30. The two-time Stanley Cup champion (2013, 2015) and Pittsburgh native signed a six-year contract with the Blue Jackets on July 3, tying him to the club through the 2020-21 season. He has collected 52-74-126 and 44 penalty minutes 208 career NHL games and added 15-19-34, 16 penalty minutes and is +16 in 67 career playoff games.
Campbell, 31, signed a two-year contract with the club on July 1. He has registered 68-108-176 points and 618 penalty minutes in 721 career NHL games with the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers, helping Boston win the 2011 Stanley Cup championship.
