COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets invite fans to a St. Patrick’s Day Plaza Party, presented by Nationwide, on Thursday, March 17 before the Jackets host the Detroit Red Wings at 7 p.m. The first 10,000 fans attending the game will receive green beads courtesy of Nationwide. The party on the Front Street plaza starts at 3 p.m. and game tickets are not required to attend.
During the plaza party, green beer and select food items will be available for purchase. Entertainment offerings include Irish pipe & drum band performances at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., a DJ and games. In addition, sports fans can keep up with college basketball action as games will be shown on an outdoor screen.
Also in recognition of St. Patrick’s Day, the Blue Jackets Foundation will once again host a special auction featuring a full team set of authentic, autographed, green jerseys. The players will wear the jerseys during pre-game warm-ups on Thursday, March 17. The complete set will be individually autographed by the respective players and on display at concourse locations during home games on Sunday, March 13 vs. Tampa Bay Lightning and on St. Patrick’s Day.
