Blue Jackets celebrate 2014-15 home opener vs. New York Rangers with plaza party, pres. by Nationwide, on Oct. 11

The Columbus Blue Jackets invite fans to celebrate the club’s 2014-15 regular season home-opener by visiting the Opening Night Plaza Party, presented by Nationwide, on Saturday, October 11 before the Jackets host Metropolitan Division rival and reigning Eastern Conference champion New York Rangers at 7 p.m. The party on the Front Street plaza starts at 3 p.m. and game tickets are not required to attend.

A new and special attraction of this year’s plaza party is the red carpet arrival of the Blue Jackets. Fans are invited to line up and welcome the players as they proceed across the plaza and into the front doors of Nationwide Arena. Arriving in Lexus vehicles, most players are expected between 3:30-5 p.m.


Additional plaza party festivities include music, food and drink, and a unique live painting performance by an airbrush artist. Also adding to the atmosphere, FOX Sports Ohio’s Brian Giesenschlag and Bill Davidge will host an expanded edition of the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show from their outside broadcast position starting at 6 p.m.

All fans attending the pre-game party may pick up a Blue Jackets cheer card courtesy of Nationwide while all fans attending the game will receive a T-shirt courtesy of Nationwide and a 2014-15 schedule magnet courtesy of Papa John’s. Arena doors will open at 6 p.m., with fans encouraged to take their seats by 6:50 p.m. for the Opening Night show featuring individual player introductions.

A limited number of tickets to the home opener are currently available for purchase at ,, the Big Lots Box Office at Nationwide Arena, The OhioHealth Chiller Ice Rinks and all Ticketmaster Ticket Centers. Fans may purchase tickets by phone at (800) 745‐3000.
