SETTING THE STAGE: John Tortorella recently said that the Blue Jackets can ill afford to exhale, especially after the emotional end to their 16-game winning streak which was followed by back-to-back regulation losses to division opponents. They got back on track with an overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, but this tough stretch continues with another Metro foe on Tuesday night.

The Blue Jackets will become quite familiar with the Carolina Hurricanes over the next couple of weeks; after Tuesday's game at PNC Arena in Raleigh, the two teams will face off twice more in the next 10 days. Carolina visits Nationwide Arena on both Jan. 17 and 21, book-ending a busy week on home ice for the Blue Jackets.

If it seems like every team in the Metro just continues to win, well, you're not too far off. The Hurricanes are coming off an overtime win of their own on Sunday, beating the Boston Bruins on a goal from rookie Sebastian Aho. Carolina is 12-4-1 at home this season and went 10-0-1 at PNC Arena through a long stretch that began in November and ended in late December. A regulation loss to New Jersey in January was Carolina's first at home since Nov. 10.

Needless to say, this is an important game for the Blue Jackets, who will play their next three games on the road, including a back-to-back this weekend in Florida.

NOTEWORTHY NEWS: Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen shook up his goaltending situation on Monday, recalling Anton Forsberg from the Cleveland Monsters (AHL) and placing Curtis McElhinney on waivers. Forsberg is 12-6-1 with a .930 save percentage so far this season. Expect Sergei Bobrovsky to start in goal for the Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.

UPDATE (12:30 P.M.): Bobrovsky is sick and will not play tonight, per Tortorella. Forsberg will start in goal and Joonas Korpisalo has been recalled from Cleveland to back up.
