Blue Jackets assign three players to Springfield (AHL); camp roster now stands at 29 players

COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets have designated three players for assignment to the Springfield Falcons, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The moves bring the club’s current roster to 29 players.

Forward Simon Hjalmarsson and goaltender Oscar Dansk have been assigned to the Falcons, while forward Dana Tyrell has been placed on waivers and will be assigned to Springfield if he clears on Friday at 12 p.m.

The Blue Jackets, who are 6-1-0 in the preseason, return to action Saturday when they host the Nashville Predators in the preseason finale. Game time at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET. Columbus opens the regular season at Buffalo on Thursday, October 9 and plays its home-opener at Nationwide Arena on Saturday, October 11 against the New York Rangers.
