The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned seven players to the Syracuse Crunch, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today. Forwards Dan Fritsche, Steven Goertzen, Nikolai Zherdev, Geoff Platt and Joe Motzko, along with defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and goaltender Pascal Leclaire will be joining the club's American Hockey League affiliate, which plays at Hershey on Saturday and Philadelphia on Sunday.

The Blue Jackets have a non-Olympic break season-high six days without a game before returning to action on Thursday, December 8 against the New York Islanders. Game time at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m.,with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
