The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned left wing Alexandre Picard to the Syracuse Crunch, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Wednesday.
Picard, 20, netted three goals and two assists for five points with 20 penalty minutes and was +1 in five preseason games. The club’s first pick, eighth overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft, Picard has tallied 14 penalty minutes in 17 games with the Blue Jackets. He has added 15-15-30 with 52 penalty minutes and is plus-2 in 45 career AHL games with the Crunch.
The Blue Jackets begin their sixth NHL season on Friday, October 6 against the Vancouver Canucks. Game time at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the arena and be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. for the start of the pre-game festivities.
