Blue Jackets assign F Sean Collins to Springfield

COLUMBUS, OHIO ---
The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned forward Sean Collins to the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced tonight.

Collins, 24, has collected one assist and a +1 plus/minus rating in six games with the Blue Jackets this season and has registered 0-1-1, six penalty minutes with an even plus/minus rating in 11 career NHL games. He has notched 3-4-7, four penalty minutes and is +5 in 13 games with the Falcons and has 15-28-43, 28 penalty minutes and is +23 in 85 career AHL games.

The Saskatoon, Sasketchewan native was Columbus’ ninth pick, 187th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft. He played four seasons at Cornell University (ECAC) from 2008-12, registering 30-27-57 and 62 penalty minutes in 136 career games.
