Blue Jackets assign center Michael Chaput to Springfield Falcons (AHL)

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned center Michael Chaput to the American Hockey League’s Springfield Falcons, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Chaput, 22, has recorded two assists with eight penalty minutes and averaged 10:51 of ice time while playing in all 18 games this season with the Blue Jackets. The Ile Bizard, Quebec native who made his NHL debut on October 27, 2013 vs. Anaheim has recorded 0-3-3 with 10 penalty minutes in 35 career NHL games. Acquired by the Blue Jackets in a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers on February 28, 2012, Chaput has also recorded 32-45-77 and 108 penalty minutes in 128 career AHL games with Springfield.
