Blue Jackets Assign Center Derek MacKenzie to Syracuse (AHL)

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned center Derek MacKenzie to the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Scott Howson announced December 19. MacKenzie has appeared in two games and recorded two penalty minutes this season with the Blue Jackets. He has recorded 12 goals and six assists for 18 points with 28 penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in 30 games with the Crunch, ranking second on the club in goals and third (tied) in points.

The Blue Jackets return to action Friday when they host the Los Angeles Kings at Nationwide Arena. Game time is set for 7 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FSN Ohio will begin with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
