Blue Jackets Announce Sports Talk Series Featuring Standout Sports Personalities

Note: *Sports Talk Series program featuring Olympic figure skater Emily Hughes was cancelled because of travel related issues due to the weather.

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that 2006 U.S. Olympic Team figure skater Emily Hughes and college basketball analyst Clark Kellogg are the first two featured guests in the team’s new Sports Talk Series. The series will give fans an opportunity to listen to the special guests speak, participate in question & answer and autograph sessions and attend that night’s Blue Jackets game.

The pre-game series kicks off with Emily Hughes prior to the Blue Jackets-St. Louis Blues game on Wednesday, February 14 at Nationwide Arena. The event begins at 5 p.m. with a question & answer session during which time fans will have a chance to ask Emily about anything from balancing life as a high school senior with her life as a world-renowned competitive figure skater to her experience as an Olympian during the 2006 Winter Games in Italy. As an added bonus, Hughes will also treat fans to an exhibition performance before concluding the event with an autograph session. The ticket package includes a $32 ticket for just $27.

Also beginning at 5 p.m. before the Blue Jackets-Edmonton Oilers game on Thursday, February 22, Ohio State hoops legend and 14-year CBS college basketball analyst Clark Kellogg will enlighten fans with an exclusive basketball chalk talk just weeks before “March Madness” begins. Kellogg’s illustrious career at Ohio State (1979-82) led to his selection as the No. 1 draft pick by the Indiana Pacers in 1982 where he played for five seasons before retiring due to chronic knee injuries. In addition to his work with CBS, he is currently in his 17th season as a television analyst on Pacers broadcasts. An autograph session follows the chalk talk. The Blue Jackets return to action on Friday when they visit the Nashville Predators. Game time is set for 8 p.m. with live coverage on FSN Ohio beginning with the Ice Breaker pre-game show at 7:30 p.m. Coverage also includes the Blue Jackets Ice Cap post-game show immediately following the game. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM Sports Radio 1460 The Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
