The Columbus Blue Jackets announced today that Pontiac-GMC has signed a multi-year deal to renew its corporate sponsorship to remain the hockey club's Championship Partner in the automotive category.
The deal names Pontiac as the official vehicle and GMC the official truck of the Columbus Blue Jackets. As part of tonight's Opening Night pre-game celebration, many of the Blue Jackets players will arrive at the Plaza Party in a procession of Pontiac-GMC vehicles at approximately 5 p.m. before entering Nationwide Arena through the Front Street doors.
Primary elements of the integrated sponsorship include exclusive vehicle display and promotional exposure within Nationwide Arena and on Pontiac-GMC Drive, the branded concourse destination located on the main concourse overlooking the Dispatch Ice Haus.
The deal also includes fixed signage on the scoreboard and hockey dasher boards as well as electronic signage, broadcast inventory and player appearances.
"Pontiac-GMC has been an active and supportive Championship Partner since day one and we are thrilled with the opportunity to further grow this partnership. We're looking forward to working with local Pontiac-GMC dealers to create promotional programs that will translate into sales of their fine line of vehicles," said Larry Hoepfner, Columbus Blue Jackets Senior Vice-President of Business Operations.
"We are proud of our affiliation with the Columbus Blue Jackets and look forward to an exciting 2005-06 season," said Joel Sassa, Regional Divisional Marketing Manager, Pontiac-Buick-GMC.
