Blue Jackets Announce Name Change for Team's Five Retail Locations

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Blue Jackets and television partner FSN Ohio announced today that each of the hockey club's five official team store locations will be re-named "FSN Ohio Blue Line" effective Friday, Sept. 14. In addition to the original flagship store at Nationwide Arena, the Blue Jackets operate retail locations at Chiller Dublin, Chiller Easton, Chiller North (Lewis Center) along with a full-service store at The Mall at Tuttle Crossing.

Starting Friday, Sept. 14, the five FSN Ohio Blue Line locations will be the exclusive source for the sleek new Rbk EDGE jerseys, available in authentic and premier versions for both home and road. The white and blue sweaters feature the club's new primary logo – introduced on its third jersey during the 2003-04 season – which is inspired by the state flag of Ohio. It is shaped in the letter "C" and overlays the familiar Blue Jackets star, which signifies Columbus as the state capital. The state flag of Ohio, called the Ohio burgee, is based upon the pennant used by the Ohio cavalry from 1862-65. The new jerseys feature technologically advanced materials and fabrics that are more breathable, more water-resistant, more comfortable and more compatible with equipment.

In addition to carrying an array of Blue Jackets items, the three FSN Ohio Blue Line locations at the suburban Chiller Ice Rinks cater to youth and amateur hockey players with equipment, jerseys as well as hockey and figure skating apparel. The Chiller stores also offer team services for hockey and other sports. The Columbus Destroyers (Arena Football League) are represented at the Nationwide Arena and Tuttle Crossing stores. Finally, the locations at all three Chillers and at Tuttle Crossing serve as an official outlet where customers may buy tickets at box office prices for Blue Jackets, Destroyers and Ohio Jr. Blue Jackets home games as well as most special events held at Nationwide Arena.
