Blue Jackets Announce 2011-12 Season Ticket Renewal Information, Rewards Program

by Blue Jackets Staff / Columbus Blue Jackets

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets announced March 1 a number of changes to the club's season ticket pricing structure, as well as renewal incentives for the 2011-12 National Hockey League season that will keep prices for current season ticket holders the same as they have paid since 2007-08. Current season ticket holders with full or partial-season packages (Half and Quarter Season) have the opportunity to lock in their same price for the fourth consecutive year if tickets are renewed by March 28, 2011. The club also introduced Blue Jackets Rewards, a new program that rewards full season ticket holders, who renew by March 28, 2011 and pay in full by May 31, 2011, with the opportunity to enjoy complimentary food, beverage and Blue Jackets merchandise at Nationwide Arena next season.

"Over the last few months we have been gathering feedback from our season ticket holders as well as reviewing the current season ticket holder benefits and pricing. It is our goal to recognize the loyalty and commitment our season ticket holders make by ensuring that they receive the best value and privileges offered to anyone," said John Browne, Blue Jackets Chief Marketing Officer.

In addition to locking in their same seat location for next season, season ticket holders who renew their tickets for the 2011-12 season by Monday, March 28, 2011 will receive the following:

•Opportunity to lock in the lowest prices that will be offered on 2011-12 season tickets - savings of up to 35% as compared to single-game prices. For most season ticket holders, their price will remain flat for 2011-12. For some, their price will decrease as compared to their 2010-11 ticket price.

•An additional discount off their already reduced Season Ticket Holder playoff ticket prices for Stanley Cup Playoff games that may take place at Nationwide Arena this year. By renewing now, season ticket holders will enjoy a savings of up to 38% off the single-game ticket prices for Stanley Cup Playoffs.

•Opportunity to win one of over 500 prizes in the Blue Jackets Season Ticket Holder Sweepstakes. By renewing now, season ticket holders are automatically eligible to win prizes including trips with the team, a trip to the 2011 Stanley Cup Final, a trip to the 2012 Winter Classic, game worn merchandise, unique experiences and more. One or more prizes will be awarded on a daily basis between March 4 and March 28. The earlier season ticket holders renew the more chances they have to win one of the 500 prizes to be given away this month.

•Opportunity for full season ticket holders who renew by March 28 and pay their balance in full by May 31 to enjoy the benefits of the new Blue Jackets Rewards program. The exact amount of Blue Jackets Rewards that a season ticket holder receives is based on the number of years as a season ticket holder and the value of the season tickets they purchase for the 2011-12 season. The amount of the Rewards they will receive will range between 2% to 4% of the value of the tickets they purchase for the 2011-12 season.

•Opportunity to take advantage of the 12 Month Interest Free Payment Plan.

The season ticket renewal campaign begins this week. In order to renew their season tickets and take advantage of the above benefits, season ticket holders simply place a deposit on their tickets for the 2011-12 season and choose from four different payment options.

For the upcoming season, prices in nearly 40% of the seating areas will decrease or remain unchanged. In the lower bowl, select areas in the end where the Blue Jackets shoot once will decrease while five other areas will have a modest increase for new buyers and season ticket holders who elect not to renew their tickets by March 28. In the upper bowl, prices in five of eight areas will decrease. Overall, season ticket prices in the upper and lower bowls range between 20-35% below single-game prices for next season with the highest savings on full season tickets.

New in 2011-12, the team is introducing the lowest available full season ticket price in club history. Nearly 600 seats in sections 201 through 212 will be available for only $599 on a full-season basis – less than $14 per game. Partial season plans are also available in these areas.

The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they visit the Vancouver Canucks. Game time from Rogers Arena is 10 p.m. ET. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio HD begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show starting at 9:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Wheeling Island Hotel & Casino Blue Jackets Radio Network – including flagship station CD101.1 at 102.5 FM – and online at BlueJackets.com.
