The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated forward Manny Malhotra and defenseman Luke Richardson off Injured Reserve, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced Tuesday. Both players are eligible to return to action on Tuesday when the Blue Jackets host the Vancouver Canucks at Nationwide Arena.

Malhotra has missed the past 22 games due to a shoulder injury suffered December 8 against the New York Islanders. He has appeared in 25 games this season, recording 2-13-15 with 27 penalty minutes. Prior to the injury, Malhotra had recorded 2-7-9 with a +2 plus/minus rating over his last 11 games played. A first round pick by the New York Rangers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Malhotra has recorded 37-55-92 with 192 penalty minutes in 371 career NHL games, including 14-26-40 in 81 career games with Columbus.

Richardson has missed the past 16 games after suffering a fractured jaw in the December 21 game against Dallas. In 33 games this season he has recorded 1-4-5 with 24 penalty minutes. An 18-year NHL veteran, he has skated in 1,280 career NHL games, posting 33-151-184 with 1,949 penalty minutes.

Tonight's game between the Blue Jackets and Canucks is slated to begin at 7 p.m., with FSN Ohio's Ice Breaker pre-game show starting at 6:30 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network and flagship stations WBNS-AM, Sports Radio 1460 the Fan and WWCD-FM, CD101.
