COLUMBUS, OHIO -- Columbus Blue Jackets forward Jared Boll has been activated off Injured Reserve, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Boll has missed 45 games since suffering a torn tendon in his ankle in late-November. The 27-year-old has appeared in 21 games this season, scoring one goal and adding 38 penalty minutes. He has also recorded nine shots on goal and 38 hits.
Columbus’ fourth pick, 101st overall, in the 2005 NHL Draft, Boll has registered 25-28-53 and 1,001 penalty minutes in 409 career games with the Jackets. He ranks second on the club’s all-time penalty minutes list (Jody Shelley, 1,025) and is one of six players to play in 400 or more games as a Blue Jacket, joining Rick Nash (674), David Vyborny (543), Rostislav Klesla (515), R.J. Umberger (439) and Fedor Tyutin (411).
The Blue Jackets return to action on Thursday when they visit the Montreal Canadiens. Game time from Bell Centre is 7:30 p.m. Live coverage on FOX Sports Ohio begins with the Blue Jackets Live pre-game show at 7 p.m. The game will also be broadcast live on the Blue Jackets Radio Network, including flagship station Sports Radio 97.1 The Fan, and online at BlueJackets.com.
