The 30-year-old blueliner racked up 7-44-51 and 61 penalty minutes in 75 games in 2013-14, setting club records for points and assists by a defenseman and matching his career high in points set with Montreal and the New York Islanders in 2010-11.
The Canton, Michigan native ranked fourth in assists and was tied for eighth among all NHL defensemen in scoring last season. In 491 career NHL games, he has tallied 45-198-243 and 421 penalty minutes with the Blue Jackets, Canadiens, Islanders, Ducks and Blackhawks. He was Chicago’s fifth pick, 156th overall, in the 2002 NHL Draft.
