Blue Jackets Activate Defenseman Mike Commodore off Injured Reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Mike Commodore off injured reserve, General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Commodore, 29, who was injured in the Blue Jackets first preseason game at Pittsburgh on September 15, recorded five goals and 19 assists for 24 points, 100 penalty minutes and had a +11 plus/minus rating in 81 games last season with Columbus. He led the club and ranked tied for 14th in the NHL with 162 blocked shots, while ranking 21st in the NHL in hits with 201 to his credit. In 377 career games with New Jersey, Calgary, Carolina, Ottawa and Columbus, he has tallied 19-68-87, 539 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +7.

The Blue Jackets return action tonight when they visit the Edmonton Oilers. Game time from Rexall Place is set for 9:30 p.m. ET.
