Blue Jackets activate defenseman David Savard off injured reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman David Savard off Injured Reserve, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.  Savard has missed the past 11 games due to an oblique strain.

Savard, 25, has posted a goal and 15 assists for 16 points with 31 penalty minutes and has averaged 24:05 of ice time in 39 games with the Blue Jackets this season.  He ranks second on the club in time on ice, second among defensemen in assists and third in points.  The St. Hyacinthe, Quebec native has collected 19-58-77 and 146 penalty minutes in 226 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets.  He was Columbus’ third pick, 94th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft.
