COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired forward Jerry D’Amigo and a conditional seventh-round pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Matt Frattin, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

D’Amigo, 23, appeared in 22 games with Toronto last season, making his National Hockey League debut on December 5, 2013 against the Dallas Stars. He recorded one goal, two assists, three points and 12 shots on goal with the Maple Leafs and tallied 17-12-29 and a +7 plus/minus rating in 70 appearances with the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies.

Selected by Toronto in the sixth round, 158th overall, at the 2009 NHL Draft, D’Amigo has recorded 57-61-118 and a +26 rating in 240 career AHL games, all with the Marlies. He has also tallied 15-21-36 in 40 career Calder Cup Playoff games, helping Toronto win an Eastern Conference championship in 2012. Last season, he was tied for second on the club in postseason scoring with 6-8-14 in 14 outings.

A native of Binghamton, New York, D’Amigo split his amateur career between the Ontario Hockey League (Kitchener), NCAA (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) and North American Hockey League (United States National Development Program). The 5-11, 208-pound right winger was named the ECAC Rookie of the Year for 2009-10 after registering 10-24-34 in 35 games for the Engineers in his lone season of collegiate hockey.

D’Amigo twice represented the United States at the IIHF World Junior Championships, winning gold in 2010 and capturing bronze the following year. He also competed for Team USA at the 2009 IIHF World Under-18 Championships (gold, First Team All-Star) and 2008 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (silver).

Frattin, 26, has registered 17-18-35 and 40 penalty minutes in 126 career NHL games with Columbus, Los Angeles and Toronto. Acquired by the Blue Jackets in a trade with the Kings on March 5, 2014, Frattin tallied 0-1-1 and a +2 plus/minus rating in four games played with Columbus in 2013-14. He also registered 2-4-6 and 11 PIM in 40 games played with Los Angeles last season.
