“We have tremendous talent on this team, a great arena and fans who supports us, so I get really excited thinking about what’s going on here,” Blue Jackets captain Adam Foote said. “The core group of young players reminds me of when I first came up with the Quebec Nordiques. We had talented players who had to learn how to win. That’s what I see happening here.”
The Quebec Nordiques moved to Colorado and became the Avalanche in 1995-96 and Foote and the Avalanche went 407-207-101-19, winning two Stanley Cups during his time there.
“Hopefully, older guys like myself and Sergei, who have been fortunate enough to win Stanley Cups, can help this team reach its goals,” Foote said. “I think people started to see a glimpse of how good we can be when we got healthy and had everyone in the lineup. We still have a ways to go but we are going to be a very good team for a very long time.”
Rick Nash also wants to thank the fans for their support.
