Ashley's son, Luke, plays for the Springfield Stars. She was nominated by the parents of her son's teammate.
As a hockey mom, she is dedicated to her son and the rest of the kids on the team: managing, organizing, and planning team activities from the team uniforms to helping create the practice schedule and ensuring all of the kids get more time out on the ice. She has stepped in to open communication among players, coaches, parents, and league directors and is always looking for new ways to better the team.
Melissa was nominated by her son Tavian, who is a varsity goalie for the Canton Akron Jets.
Melissa is a single mom encouraging and supporting her son's dream of being a goalie for the majority of his time playing hockey. She has always made the time to take her son to hockey camps, tryouts, practices and games, regardless of her work schedule. Her dedication to her son as a hockey mom is apparent and she has said "I am blessed to have him as a son and loving being a goalie mom."
Kristen was nominated by her good friend, Amy. Kristen is a Hockey Mom to her 18 year old son, Jack, who plays for the Newark Generals and has been playing since grade school.
Her commitment exceeds the support of her, son as she works behind the scenes preparing team meals, filming games, hosting team parties, passing out hand-warmers to others and raising funds for youth that cannot afford the costs of playing hockey on their own. Not only does she drive to all practices, clinics, games and tournaments, but she also drivers her son, his teammates and the youth in her community to success through her support as a hockey mom.
Kirstin was nominated by her husband. Kirstin is a dedicated hockey mom of two youth hockey players, 9 year old Connor, and 13 year old Ian. Serving as the team manager for three youth hockey teams, Kirstin has also found time in addition to her busy schedule to found and lead a local non-profit dedicated to bringing an ice rink to Pickerington and so far she has procured land through the city to be used to house a rink. As her husband said, "Kirstin's passion for the game and her dedication to growing the game puts her in a league of her own when it comes to hockey moms.
