Viktor Svedberg agrees to AHL deal with Rockford

Rockford, Ill.- The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs announced on Thursday that the club has agreed to terms with defenseman Viktor Svedberg on an AHL contract for the 2013-14 season.

Svedberg recently completed his second full professional season with Frolunda HC of the Swedish Elite League. In 51 games in 2012-13, the 6-8 defenseman marked a pair of assists with 24 PIMs.

Overall, Svedberg has played in parts of three seasons with Frolunda and has totaled 115 games with 7 points (3G, 4A). Svedberg also played his junior hockey in Frolunda along with in Rogle, playing in 126 career games, notching 55 points (15G, 40A) with 243 PIMs.

The Gothenburg, Sweden native participated in the Chicago Blackhawks prospect camp in July 2012.
