Throughout the week, 2016 draft pick Nathan Noel will be blogging for chicagoblackhawks.com about his experiences during his first Blackhawks Prospect Camp.

This morning we had another scrimmage. It was high-paced and a faster game than yesterday. All the guys are pretty tired after this one.

I’m feeling pretty good now. By trying to get into the game a bit more, I’m feeling more comfortable every day. I’m enjoying playing with the guys on my primary line (Beau Starrett and Fredrik Olofsson). Our team is missing a forward, so we’re getting mixed around and getting to play with everyone. They’re all good players.

The coaches here are great too. There’s so many staff here—I think there’s more staff than players. Everyone is so friendly and so helpful. They know you’re here to work hard every day in the practices and games, and they give everyone individual corrections to help you along the way. They know what you bring to the table, and you just have to show them you have a good work ethic and that you’re determined to make the team in the future. That’s what it really comes down to: who’s going to work the hardest for you.

Outside of practice and games, all of the guys are getting along. Everyone is just trying to fit in here, and even though you don’t really know the other guys, you want to make everyone feel comfortable. Nobody is bigger than anyone else and we’re all in the same boat. It’s a really good group. Some of us went shopping yesterday for a few things. Coming from Canada, it’s nice that things are a lot cheaper here.

We have a group dinner tonight, and that should be fun, seeing all the guys. I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing, and it should be a fun end to the week.
