Blackhawks defenseman Jim Vandermeer will pay a visit to the Glacier Ice Arena Spring Challenge on Wednesday, May 2 from 5-6 pm. The Spring Challenge is an event for players in Glacier Ice Arena's Ice Dogs in-house hockey program.
Vandermeer will talk to the players, sign autographs and pose for pictures.
Vandermeer has completed three seasons in the NHL and was enjoying his best NHL season when he broke his ankle while blocking a shot in late January. In 46 games in 2006-07, Vandermeer had one goal and six assists for seven points and served as one of the Blackhawks alternate captains.
Glacier Ice Arena is located at 670 N. Lakeview Parkway in Vernon Hills, about one mile southwest of the intersection of Milwaukee Ave. and Town Line Rd. Glacier Ice Arena is a member of the Chicago Blackhawks Rink Partnership Program.
