"We received so much positive feedback about our first Spanish-language Blackhawks broadcast earlier this year that we decided to pursue doing more games with the organization and the English-language radio home for the Blackhawks, WGN Radio," said Univision Senior Vice President and General Manager Doug Levy. "The Blackhawks have a very strong appeal among Chicago Hispanics due, in part, to the team's amazing tradition of winning. Univision's multimedia approach to engaging Hispanic fans allows us to connect the Blackhawks with our audiences across all of our broadcast and digital platforms. We are excited to be expanding our partnership with an organization that recognizes the value in fully engaging with Chicago's Hispanic community."
Univision will also give away Blackhawks prizes, jerseys, tickets, exclusive event opportunities and more across their news broadcasts throughout the season, in addition to other cross-promotional opportunities on several of Univision's local radio and TV platforms including WGBO-TV, WOJO-FM, WVIV-FM and Univision's numerous digital and social media sites.
Chicago Blackhawks Charities and the Blackhawks Youth Hockey Department will also continue to partner with El Valor to conduct hockey clinics with students from the organization throughout the year. El Valor is a non-profit community-based organization that reaches thousands of families throughout the Chicagoland area and strives for a community in which all members, including individuals with special needs, can live, learn and work.
