Trio Of Blackhawks To Make Community Appearances On Saturday

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that forward Dustin Byfuglien, defenseman Brent Sopel and Television Color Analyst Eddie Olczyk will make three separate appearances as part of organizational community initiatives around the Chicago area this Saturday.

Who: Forward Dustin Byfuglien, the Chicago Blackhawks and North Avenue Beach Sports

What: RollerHawks End of Season Celebration

Sat. Aug. 23, 8:00 A.M – Noon

Where: North Avenue Beach Rink (1600 N. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago)

Background/Event Information: RollerHawks was a 10-week summer program on Saturday mornings aimed to provide roller hockey instruction for kids of all ages and skill levels. Byfuglien will be on hand from 11:00 A.M. to Noon, meeting and greeting fans.

Give Hockey a Try Day in Rolling Meadows

Sat. Aug. 23 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Where: West Meadows Ice Arena (3939 Winnetka Ave., in Rolling Meadows)

Background/Event Information:
Free to children ages three to 10, no previous experience is required for Give Hockey a Try Day. The event features the Northwest Chargers Bantam team squaring off against the Hornets Sled Hockey Team with proceeds benefiting “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.” Sopel and Olczyk will sign autographs at 1:30 P.M.

What: The First Annual Chicago Blackhawks Inline Hockey Tournament

When: Sat. Aug. 23, from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M.

Where: Mt. Prospect Community Center Inline Hockey Rink (1000 W. Central Ave. in Mt. Prospect)

Background/Event Information:
The Blackhawks will be hosting an inline hockey tournament for children ages eight to 14. The event features a skills competition, championship games and an appearance from Sopel and Tommy Hawk at 2:30 P.M.
